【摘要】:ThispartofISO/IEC9797specifiesthreeMACalgo-rithmsthatuseasecretkeyandahash-function(oritsround-function)withann-bitresulttocalculateanm-bitMAC.Thesemechanismscanbeusedasdataintegritymechanismstoverifythatdatahasnotbeenalteredinanunauthorisedmanner.Theycanalsobeusedasmessageauthenticationmechanismstoprovideassurancethatamessagehasbeenoriginatedbyanen-tityinpossessionofthesecretkey.Thestrengthofthedataintegritymechanismandmessageauthenticationmechanismisdependentonthelength(inbits)kandsecrecyofthekey,onthelength(inbits)nofahash-codeproducedbythehash-function,onthestrengthofthehash-function,onthelength(inbits)moftheMAC,andonthespecificmechanism.ThethreemechanismsspecifiedinthispartofISO/IEC9797arebasedonthededicatedhash-functionsspecifiedinISO/IEC10118-3.Thefirstmech-anismspecifiedinthispartofISO/IEC9797iscom-monlyknownasMDx-MAC.Itcallsthecompletehash-functiononce,butitmakesasmallmodificationtotheround-functionbyaddingakeytotheadditiveconstantsintheround-function.ThesecondmechanismspecifiedinthispartofISO/IEC9797iscommonlyknownasHMAC.Itcallsthecompletehash-functiontwice.ThethirdmechanismspecifiedinthispartofISO/IEC9797isavariantofMDx-MACthattakesasinputonlyshortstrings(atmost256bits).Itoffersahigherperformanceforapplicationsthatworkwithshortinputstringsonly.ThispartofISO/IEC9797canbeappliedtothese-curityservicesofanysecurityarchitecture,process,orapplication.
