【摘要】:1.1Thesetestsareapplicabletojointsystemsofvariousmaterialsandconstructionthatareintendedforuseinlinearopeningsbetweenadjacentfireresistivestructures.1.2Thefireenduranceratingsforjointsystemsareintendedtoregisterperformanceduringtheperiodoffireexposureandarenotintendedtobeinterpretedashavingdeterminedtheacceptabilityofthejointsystemsforusebeforeorafterfireexposure.Theintentofthesemethodsistodevelopdatatoassistothersindeterminingthesuitabilityofthejointsystemswherefireresistanceisrequired.1.3Theserequirementsareintendedtoevaluatethelengthoftimethatthetypesofjointsystemsspecifiedin1.1willcontainafireduringapredeterminedtestexposure.Thetestevaluatesthejointsystem’sresistancetoheatand,insomeinstances,toahosestream,whilecarryinganappliedloadiftheassemblyisloadbearing.Themethodoftestingalsoincludesoptionalairleakageteststodeterminetherateofairleakagethroughjointsystemsresultingfromaspecifiedairpressuredifferenceappliedacrossthesurfaceofthejointsystems.1.4Undertheserequirementsajointsystemissubjectedtoastandardfireexposurecontrolledtoachievespecifiedtemperaturesthroughoutaspecifiedtimeperiod.Thisexposurebyitselfisnotintendedtoberepresentativeofallfireconditions;conditionsvarywithchangesintheamount,natureanddistributionoffireloading,ventilation,compartmentsizeandconfiguration,andheatsinkcharacteristicsofthecompartment.1.5Alljointsystemsarecycledthroughtheirintendedrangeofmovementpriortofireexposuretodemonstratethejointsystem’srangeofmovementandtheimpactofthejointsystemduringmovementontheadjacentfireresistivestructures.Jointsystemsarerequiredtobeloadedtotheirdesignedliveloadcapacityduringthefiretest.Fortestsofwall-to-wallandhead-of-walljointsystems,thefiretestisfollowedbytheapplicationofaspecifiedstandardhosestream.1.6Theserequirementscoverthemeasurementofthetransmissionthroughthejointsystemofheatandgasessufficientlyhottoignitecottonwaste.1.7Revisedandrelocatedas1.14March10,20061.8Theserequirementsprovidearelativemeasureoffireperformanceofcomparableassembliesunderthesespecifiedfireexposureconditions.Anyvariationfromtheconstructionorconditionsthataretested,suchasmethodofassemblyandmaterials,isnotwithinthescopeofthistestmethod.1.9Testsforevaluatingthesuitabilityofpouredorformed-in-placematerialsforuseinjointsystemsundernon-fireconditionsarefoundintheStandardTestMethodforAdhesionandCohesionofElastomericJointSealantsUnderCyclicMovement(HockmanCycle),ASTMC719-93.1.10Testsforevaluatingthesuitabilityofjointsystemsotherthanthosewithpouredorformed-in-placematerialsundernon-fireconditionsarefoundintheStandardTestMethodforCyclicMovementandMeasuringtheMinimumandMaximumJointWidthsofArchitecturalJointSystems,ASTME1399-91.
