【摘要】:Rosinandsimilarmaterialssuchasrosinderivativesoftencontainvolatilematerialderivedfromtherawmaterialusedorformedasaresultoftheprocessingoftherosin.Thisvolatilematerialcanhaveasignificanteffectonthephysicalandchemicalpropertiesoftherosinandsoastandardmethodforitsdeterminationisrequired.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthevolatileoilcontentofrosinorsimilarmaterial.Theoilmayconsistofnaturallyoccurringterpeneoil,suchasheavyfractionsofturpentine,resultingfromincompletedistillationintheprocessingoftherosin,orofforeignnonterpeneoilresultingfromincompleteremovalofmineralorcoal-tarsolventusedtoextracttherosinfromwoodorstillwastes.Incertaincasesthevolatileoilcouldconsistofdecarboxylatedrosinformedduringtheprocessingoftherosin.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
