【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsareprimarilyintendedtotestmaterialsforcompliancewithcompositionalspecificationsandformonitoring.Thedeterminationofcarbonandsulfurandacidneutralizationpotentialinoresandrelatedmaterialsisnecessarytoclassifyoresformetallurgicalprocessingandtoclassifywastematerialsfromtheminingandprocessingoforessuchasleachresidues,wasterock,andtailingsaccordingtotheirpotentialtogenerateacidintheenvironment.Thisinformationisusefulduringminedevelopmenttoassistinminingandmineralprocessingoperationsandforproperdisposalofwastematerials.Thesetestmethodsarealsousedtospeciatecarbonandsulfurcontentsofmetal-bearingoresandrelatedmaterialssothatacid-baseaccountingcanbeperformed(thatis,carbonatemineralacidneutralizationpotential(ANP)minussulfide-sulfurmineralacidgenerationpotential(AGP)=netcalciumcarbonate(NCC)).Additionally,thetestmethodhasutilitytoidentifytheamountoforganiccarboncontainedingoldoressothatpotentialforpregrobbingcanbeidentifiedandrectifiedthroughestablishedpretreatmentmethodspriortocyanidation.(Warning8212;Pyrolysispretreatmentat550x00B0;Chasapotentialtothermallydecomposesomecarbonateminerals:(1)transitionmetalcarbonates(forexample,siderite,FeCO3,andrhodochrosite,MnCO3)decompose,yieldingcarbondioxide,CO2,intherangeof220x00B0;Cto520x00B0;C;(2)calcitedecomposesslightlybetween300x00B0;Cand500x00B0;C,althoughmostdecompositionoccursabove550x00B0;C;(3)dolomitedecomposesat800x00B0;Cto900x00B0;C(Hammack,1994,p.440).)Thesetestmethodsalsomaybeusedfortheclassificationofrocktobeusedinconstruction,wherethepotentialtogenerateacidunderenvironmentalconditionsexists.Itisassumedthattheusersofthesetestmethodswillbetrainedanalystscapableofperformingcommonlaboratoryproceduresskillfullyandsafely.Itisexpectedthatworkwillbeperformedinaproperlyequippedlaboratoryandthatproperwastedisposalprocedureswillbefollowed.AppropriatequalitycontrolpracticessuchasthosedescribedinGuideE882mustbefollowed.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationoftotalcarbonandsulfurandacid-basecharacteristicsinmetalbearingoresandrelatedmaterialssuchasleachresidues,tailings,andwasterockwithinthefollowingranges:1.2Thequantitativerangesforthepartialdecompositiontestmethodsaredependentonthemineralogyofthesamplesbeingtested.TheuserofthesetestmethodsisadvisedtoconductaninterlaboratorystudyinaccordancewithPracticeE1601onthetestmethodsselectedforuseataparticularminingsite,inordertoestablishthequantitativerangesforthesetestmethodsonasite-specificbasis.
