【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoverstherequirementsforlowsilicateethyleneglycolbaseenginecoolantsforcoolingsystemsofheavy-dutyengines.Whenconcentratesareusedat40to60%concentrationbyvolumeinwater,orwhenpredilutedglycolbaseenginecoolants(50volume%minimum)areusedwithoutfurtherdilution,theywillfunctioneffectivelytoprovideprotectionagainstcorrosion,freezingtoatleastx2212;36.4x00B0;C(x2212;33.5x00B0;F),andboilingtoatleast108x00B0;C(226x00B0;F).Note18212;Thisspecificationisbasedontheknowledgeoftheperformanceofenginecoolantspreparedfromneworvirginingredients.Aseparatespecificationexists(D6210)forheavy-dutyenginecoolantswhichmaybepreparedfromrecycledorreprocessedusedcoolantorreprocessedindustrial-sourceethyleneglycol.1.2Coolantsmeetingthisspecificationrequireaninitialchargeofasupplementalcoolantadditive(SCA)andrequireregularmaintenancedosesofanSCAtocontinuetheprotectionincertainoperatingheavy-dutyenginecoolingsystems,particularlythoseofthewetcylinderliner-in-blockdesign.TheSCAadditionsaredefinedbyandaretheprimaryresponsibilityoftheenginemanufacturerorvehiclemanufacturer.Iftheyprovidenoinstructions,followtheSCAsupplier''srecommendedinstructions.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
