【摘要】:Thistestmethodisforrelativecomparisonofmaterialsandisnotintendedtodeterminetheageatcrackingofmortarorconcreteinanyspecifictypeofstructure,configuration,orexposure.Thistestmethodisapplicabletomixtureswithaggregatesof0.5-in.(13-mm)maximumnominalsizeorless.Thistestmethodisusefulfordeterminingtherelativelikelihoodofearly-agecrackingofdifferentcementitiousmixturesandforaidingintheselectionofcement-basedmaterialsthatarelesslikelytocrackunderretrainedshrinkage.Actualcrackingtendencyinservicedependsonmanyvariablesincludingtypeofstructure,degreeofrestraint,rateofpropertydevelopment,constructionandcuringmethods,andenvironmentalconditions.Thistestmethodcanbeusedtodeterminetherelativeeffectsofmaterialvariationsoninducedtensilestressesandcrackingpotential.Thesevariationscaninclude,butarenotlimitedto,aggregatesource,aggregategradation,cementtype,cementcontent,watercontent,supplementarycementingmaterials,orchemicaladmixtures.Formaterialsthathavenotcrackedduringthetest,therateoftensilestressdevelopmentatthetimethetestisterminatedprovidesabasisforcomparisonofthematerials.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthelaboratorydeterminationoftheageatcrackingandinducedtensilestresscharacteristicsofmortarorconcretespecimensunderrestrainedshrinkage.Theprocedurecanbeusedtodeterminetheeffectsofvariationsintheproportionsandmaterialpropertiesofmortarorconcreteoncrackingduetobothdryingshrinkageanddeformationscausedbyautogenousshrinkageandheatofhydration.1.2Thistestmethodisnotintendedforexpansivematerials.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesshowninparenthesisareinSIunitsandaregivenforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesandtodeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.(Warning-Freshhydrauliccementitiousmixturesarecausticandmaycausechemicalburnstoskinandtissueuponprolongedexposure.)
